On August 2, 2008, Alissa and Christian were married at Alissa’s folks place in Vermont! Yay!

Thank you all soooo much for coming. We had a lot of fun. A lot. We were tired the next day.

It was really wild to make that kind of commitment in front of pretty much everyone we love in the world (although some of you were not there, and we still love you and want to see you soon).

There’s no way to describe how it felt to be on the receiving end of your support and love so intensely and so clearly. After sometimes experiencing what could be called ambivalent emotions about the institution of marriage, we were humbled by how your presences, shouts of affirmation and love gave us peace and balance of mind, affirmed our commitment and love for one another, and reminded us that we’re never alone and we’re accountable to so many.

And propelled us into this new life.
